Member Rigs – Grin’s XJ

Back by popular demand is the Member Rigs section…

We start with the Red (don’t ever push the red button!) XJ, mostly because this is the rig I have the most recent info about. The rest of you (you know who you are) should send along something for me to publish.

“It’s like putting perfume on a pig,” – Mitsubishi Dealer

From Autoweek Online.

You know (as a car company) that you have problems when your dealers are saying things like this. To be fair, the comment was not aimed directly at the Raider. But has anyone actually seen one of these on the road (a Dakota sighting does not count)? Apparently , Mitsu sold about 4 of these.

Remember the big TV spot a couple years ago? Raider meets truck X in the desert and the opponent “loses it’s fluids”. Well it looks like the only thing the Raider pissed is itself. Bad marketing or rotton vehicle? Dodge seems to sell plenty of Dakotas…

1968 Kaiser M-715 – The Evil Truck Revisited

I find it hard to believe the amount of Jeep content I’m finding that interests me lately. I guess I need to make a more concerted effort to dig up some Ford or Nissan news. However, I’m still irritated with FoMoCo and I don’t want to go too import-nuts…

In any event, here is one we can all appreciate (especially a certain attorney we all know). I’m mostly passing this along for the the cool front-page-quality photo, but it will be a fun project to follow as well.

Full article here. Again, from JP.

Project “Steal J” – 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ – Part 1

Possibly an article worth following, as we had the link to the Teal Brute project in an earlier post…http://www.jpmagazine.com/projectbuild/154_0606_1997_jeep_wrangler_tj

Courtesy of JP magazine. Can’t say I’m a fan-boy when it comes to Jeeps or this mag, but I like the fantastical idea of finding a TJ in good condition (not counting the obligatory broken axle) for $3700…
