Will a Gen 2 Nissan Frontier actually tow 6000 lbs. as advertised? I don’t know…

But I can say that it handled this moderately loaded Logan Coach motorcycle trailer with no problems. 2 axles on the trailer and the relatively long wheel base of the Crew Cab kept the tail wagging to a minimum. Overload springs worked as designed and kept the truck from squatting badly under the weight of the trailer. Bilsteins also seemed to be plenty happy with the load, even on the sometimes questionable surfaces of I-25 and I-70. Overall, a very good towing experience.
Downside? 265 HP and 285 torque yanked the trailer around fine on level highways up to about 65 mph, but to make a trip over the mountains or spend any time at higher speeds would require more oomph. I guess that’s why they make the Titan…
Stumbled upon this one at 4wdandsportutility.com.

I’m not a Liberty fan, but I have to admit that this is a pretty cool truck, in appearance and execution. I mean, how many rigs can claim to have a part called a “6inch gyro-joint”?
That said…why would you go to all this trouble with a Liberty as your starting point. I assume that with this rig money was no option and a certain amount of luxury was required. Personally, I would have gone with a Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee, Suzuki Sidekick…ok, maybe not a sidekick, but you get the point.
Article says the rig belongs to Seth Green (aka Scotty Evil)?

In the interest of fair and balanced representation (yeah, right) I thought I’d throw in a Dodge reference for a change. I guess those rumors of the Dakota model being replaced were a little premature. Here is the mid-size Ram logo representation for SEMA…[pickuptruck.com].
Let’s face it, any truck this ugly deserves some attention.
You all know American Expedition Vehicles from the endless magazine and Internet coverage they receive for their Montana-based Jeep conversions.

Here is the latest [Jalponik] for those of you who enjoy the liberal application of stupid pedal (and the resulting replacement of axle shafts). Apparently, the Hemi conversion is pretty common for these guys on the TJ models, but this is a JK first. Reported specs on the 6.4L Hemi include 525 HP…
Truck was built for this years SEMA show and coincides with the release of a 5.7L Hemi conversion kit. Official AEV Press Release here.
Let’s go drag racing.
Being the basic redneck gearhead that I am, I have never really given Truckin’ Magazine a good look. I usually just passed it by on my way to 4×4 and Hot Rod mag, assuming that Truckin’ was all low riders and vintage trucks. Cool stuff, but not really my thing…
Now that I’ve dug a little deeper into this mag onlin, I’ve found some cool and useful stuff. For example:
How about an F650 6x from the Sema show? Practical? No. Will we see on on the trail? No. Is it cool? Definitely.

On the other end of the scale, we have this slammed F150 with what they call an “everyday” stereo system. Is it everyday for us? No. Is it cool? Definitely.

Enjoy.
No real story this time around, just a link to a collection of fairly outrageous vehicles. I’m fond of the Frankenstein Mustang II of course. I wonder what kind of frame it’s sitting on.

Brings up an interesting question: What off road mutt would you build?

Those that have moved beyond archaic CD technology into the world of digital music, iPods, and MP3 players have probably already heard this news.
On Nov. 13, the Led Zeppelin catalog, one of the last major holdouts in legal downloadable music, will become available online. [NY Times] [Rolling Stone]
While this news is not off-road specific, it bears mentioning on Sevenmile.net. Why? Because Led Zeppelin is very high on the list of Best Tunes to ‘Wheel To, and on Nov.13 the entire Led Zeppelin catalog becomes more accessible, portable, and convenient for us all.
Besides, if you’re going to take up space with Led Zeppelin “Discs”, they should be made of Vinyl…
Here’s another crazy truck most of us will probably never see in person. The company is Unicat. They seem to have quite a market for Unimog variants. Check out the gallery section for more great pics from exotic locales. Now this is luxury off-road…

Thanks to RG for submission/link on this one.
