A Little Something (News) for Everyone

Nothing revolutionary here, but this is a nice little “year in review” from pickuptruck.com. Not often you come across news of the Lincoln LT…which is not surprising, since it will reportedly be dropped in ’09.

Apparently ’07 saw some fun times in the form of recalls, fires, broken trannys…good stuff.

Merry Christmas from Sevenmile

While searching for Holiday related material, I came across this great pic, and the cool website it belongs to.  Take a close look at the image and you will notice this is not a Jeep.

Bush Acknowledges Existence Of Carbon Dioxide

“We can no longer ignore the facts – carbon dioxide is real,” Bush said.

Off the Beaten Path (In a Number of Ways)

I thought this article from The Manila Standard was a good read. Hard to pass up a story that has this quote in the first paragraph:

“If you carry on like this you are going to screw it up. I am engineer. Let me finish my beer and do what I am doing.”

I guess off-roading is about the same regardless of country or language…

Story is a rundown of the Rainforest Challenge Off Road Event. Looks like some real nastiness.

Cummins Diesel Power in a Nissan?

Hmmm…not usually into reporting Industry News around here, but I will show some personal interest and pass along some Nissan Truck rumblings…

Lots of Nissan news/rumors this week. I have been alternately excited and depressed as reports surface ranging from Nissan/Chrysler tie-ups, to Nissan/Suzuki tie-ups, to Diesel Titan models, to the outright dropping of the Titan from the product line.

The discussion of the Titan discontinuation is especially bad for a number of reasons, including the value of competition and trickle down platform technology enjoyed by the Frontier, Armada, Pathfinder, and XTerra.
I won’t rehash all the details, but here are the Cliff Notes from PickupTruck.com and Jalopnik.

Personally, I just think a Frontier diesel (and the 30% increase in MPG) would be cool…is that asking too much? They have them in the UK
