Winter Sports companies/Reps don’t mess around with sissy rigs.  Proof that the spirit of excess still exists in some industries.

Cool Vehicle Sighting

Not sure if this qualifies as cool or not.  I think “interesting” may be the appropriate term.  And why are so many Jeeps this color?

I just hope this particular Wrangler is on the way to a tire shop soon.

Don’t Do This

This near-Darwin Award moment in Pritchett Canyon pretty much speaks for itself.

Ok, the Camry was the only way to tie this in to Sevenmile…but some of the photos in this Jalponik Doing it Wrong post are much more priceless.

Enjoy.

The gang at Jalopnik are the masters of compelling automotive headlines, as illustrated by “Top 12 Post-Apocalyptic Survival Vehicles of the 2009 Chicago Auto Show”.  I mean, really, how can you not click on a link like that?

To top it off, there is a reference here to one of my favorite classic rock bands.  So here are those vehicles, including the Cheap Trick Chevy Avalanche.

Hummers Back in Style?

This article may be worthwhile simply based on use of the phrase “symbols of wretched excess”.

Does a claimed 16mpg, combined with off road capability and $2.00 gas make the Hummer socially acceptable again?

According to CNN Money, it seems Nissan fans have been spared the embarrassment of being associated with Chrysler.  Let us rejoice!

Looks like the stellar state of Chrysler’s business has led to second thoughts regarding the announced plan of trading small cars for large trucks.

Instead, Nissan will be left alone to make good products and Chrysler will seek salvation from France…in the form of a 35% pity investment from Fiat.  There’s dark humor in there somewhere, but I’m not sure I want to pursue it.
