Archive for the ‘ Trucks ’ Category

So I’m checking out the message boards at Expedition Portal and I come across this photo.  The phrase “holy crap, look at that” comes to mind.

Being a Frontier owner I naturally follow the usual path of links and find myself at the website for an operation called Arctic Trucks.  The name kind of says it all, but it looks far more amazing than I can describe.  These guys clearly take the freeze-out to a different level.

Sad, but true.  Say it ain’t so.  Hell has frozen over.  Insert cliche here.

After 23 years, Bigfoot is no longer a Ford.

Sissy Taureg? Think Again

I’m not sure if this Taureg was designed by VW or NASA, but it looks like fun.

Raptor Crew Cab

The 4 door Raptor has arrived (or will arrive soon).  Is this the ultimate one vehicle solution?  The redneck family truckster?  Let the drooling begin.

Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is underway for the season.  If you haven’t caught this on TV yet, make it a priority.  You can follow highlights like this on YouTube as well.  Very entertaining.  You NASCAR haters may even enjoy this.

A New Kind of Convertible

The headline reads “Russian strap-on”, it involves tank treads, and it includes the name Metelica.   Clearly, this is a must-watch video, no matter what your particular fetishes, aversions, or diversions might be.

Probably won’t be needing one on the CO Front Range, but if you found yourself in Siberia, it would probably come in handy.

Ah, the beauty of the internet.

Every once in a while you come across something you never would have found, predicted, or cared about, unless you were looking for the cosmic convergence of trucks, trails, mountains, beer, and rock n roll.

Today I found just such an entity in the form of NASfOR, the National Association of Filipino Off Roaders.  This organization, several thousand miles away, must surely be made up of kindred spirits.  As if the mud, rigs, and slogan weren’t enough to earn a genuine appreciation, these guys are sponsored by non other than Colt 45!  All that with the added bonus of a marketing tag that proclaims “the strong beer for real men”.

Classic.
