Baja in Texas? Sure. Why not?

Seems like every time I turn around I find another race series I had never heard of.  In this particular case, I came across a new (to me) off road  racing site and a story about Baja Racing of Texas.  Sounds like a pretty cool little event at one of those tiny Texas ranches.  Not sure I’ll become an official fan, but the photo gallery here has some great rigs.

Photos Worth a Peek

Just a quick link to Fourwheeler.com to check out the eye candy from SEMA.  With the auto industry (reportedly) on the rebound, it sounds like the aftermarket is heating up as well.  Notable in this article, and from other sources, is an apparent increase in attention to the off-road segment by the major auto makers.  Ford, Jeep, RAM, and Toyota seem to have made their presence especially known, in addition to the usual off-road aftermarket contingent.

Check it out here.

A Hot (Wheels) Reason to Watch the Indy 500

I didn’t know Hot Wheels had it’s own stunt team, and I’m not sure what a world record truck jump has to do with the Indy500, but this stunt (literal and promotional) looks entertaining. Hard to pass up the combination of a Hot Wheels theme and airborne stupidity in (what looks like) a desert racing truck. I guess this is proof that rally drivers like like Pastrana don’t get to have all the fun.

Enjoy the teaser and watch for follow up after Indy.

It Always Comes Back to Racing

I’m not even sure what the technical description of this sport is, but it looks like a good time…I think.

True Adventure Behind the Wheel

So I’m checking out the message boards at Expedition Portal and I come across this photo.  The phrase “holy crap, look at that” comes to mind.

Being a Frontier owner I naturally follow the usual path of links and find myself at the website for an operation called Arctic Trucks.  The name kind of says it all, but it looks far more amazing than I can describe.  These guys clearly take the freeze-out to a different level.
