The Best Looking Chevy You’ll Never See

This one is old news, but the imagery is worthy of passing along.  Behold the Chevy Colorado Rally concept.  Looks shockingly similar to the VW Amarok, but with more testosterone.  I would be seriously surprised if this truck sees US production in any form, but I would love to be proven wrong on that one.  More truck in the segment to compete with the Frontier and Tacoma could only be a good thing.

With any luck, success by GM in this arena would push Ford to produce/confirm the much rumored F100 (don’t call it a Ranger), pushing aside the SportTrac in favor of a more traditional pickup configuration.  Then they could throw it at the SVT group for a Raptor version…  Okay, now I’m just getting carried away.

Baja in Texas? Sure. Why not?

Seems like every time I turn around I find another race series I had never heard of.  In this particular case, I came across a new (to me) off road  racing site and a story about Baja Racing of Texas.  Sounds like a pretty cool little event at one of those tiny Texas ranches.  Not sure I’ll become an official fan, but the photo gallery here has some great rigs.

A Hot (Wheels) Reason to Watch the Indy 500

I didn’t know Hot Wheels had it’s own stunt team, and I’m not sure what a world record truck jump has to do with the Indy500, but this stunt (literal and promotional) looks entertaining. Hard to pass up the combination of a Hot Wheels theme and airborne stupidity in (what looks like) a desert racing truck. I guess this is proof that rally drivers like like Pastrana don’t get to have all the fun.

Enjoy the teaser and watch for follow up after Indy.

Pardon the Dust…or Don’t

Things are going to look a little different around here for a while as we do some remodeling. Thank you for your patience.

Classic Images (of Better Times?)

Even if you’re not a Ford fan, this Ford images site is worth checking out. Great shots and nostalgia.
